Has anyone looked at investing in Gold?

I buy a little bit of gold and have tried different methods such as registered Gold dealers and eBay. I have more recently found a way of purchasing gold slowly but less expensively, so this will be my route from now on. I am not interested in trading in gold, just accumulating it.

I also buy silver regularly, both with an online account and as 1 oz coins.
